Climate Change Mitigation Initiatives
IFIP is committed to helping communities in Turkana County mitigate the effects of climate change through sustainable and practical initiatives. Our approach focuses on reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources, and promoting environmental resilience.
OUR KEY INITIATIVES
Tree Planting and Reforestration
We are actively involved in large-scale tree planting campaigns to restore degraded lands and reduce desertification. This helps absorb carbon dioxide, improves air quality, and revitalizes rangelands for livestock.
We do this to open opportunities to the youth to encourage them to see the importance in our Mitigation journey as we embark on a journey to restore the degraded lands of Turkana County stretching far beyond to all ASAL Counties in the Northern and Eastern Parts of Kenya.

Water Resource Management
We are working to enhance water conservation through the development of rainwater harvesting systems and efficient irrigation methods, ensuring communities have reliable access to water, even during dry seasons.
Access to Renewable Energy
IFIP promotes the adoption of clean energy solutions such as solar and wind power to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
By introducing renewable energy systems, we aim to lower carbon footprints while improving access to sustainable energy sources.
We are looking forward to take advantage of the Solar energy to Provide the locals with solar powered devices even when it comes to learning remotel or getting access to information they need to have dignified lives.
