Islamic Foundation For Integrated Programs(IFIP)

The Islamic Foundation for Integrated Programs (IFIP) is a non-profit organization established under the Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Act of 1990 in Kenya in 2014. Headquartered in Lodwar, Turkana County, IFIP was founded to support communities impacted by climate change.

The organization builds community capacity for land restoration and promotes best land-use practices to support sustainable development and peaceful coexistence, enabling communities to manage their resources effectively.

IFIP addresses critical challenges, including climate variability, resource scarcity, social conflict, and food insecurity, with a strong focus on resilience-building and local empowerment.

The uniqueness of IFIP lies in the compassion, discipline, and ingenuity of its founders. The organization employs evidence-based approaches, bringing together experts in rural development, research, veterinary sciences, and water and environmental engineering.

Our operations are guided by the belief that pastoralism, despite the challenges posed by climate change and resource depletion, remains a viable livelihood in Turkana. By implementing integrated, long-term solutions to address environmental degradation, land conflicts, and food insecurity, IFIP seeks to ensure that local communities are resilient and adaptive in the face of changing circumstances
